Simple Weight Loss Tips
To lose weight you need to do six things:
* Eat right.
* Drink lots of water.
* Exercise at least 20 minutes each day.
* Have fun.
* Be patient.
* Keep it simple.
Some easy things you must do:
- Eat a variety of foods. The USDA recommends this so that you get all the vitamins,
fiber, energy, and protein that you need. A good way to do this is to make sure that
you have a wide variety of colors on your plate. For example, carrots, green beans,
corn, a single serving of meat, and whole-wheat bread provides a colorful plate and
a healthy and tasty meal.
- Balance the food you eat with physical activity to maintain or improve your weight.
Basically, you need to exercise.
- Choose a diet with plenty of grain products, vegetables, and fruits. This is really the
same idea as the first bullet.
- Choose a diet low in fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol. Eat a low-fat diet to reduce
your risk of heart disease and cancer.
- Choose a diet moderate in sugars. Sugar is 14 calories per teaspoon. It's very difficult
to lose weight if you eat too much of it. The easiest way to lose weight is to drastically
reduce the amount of sugar you eat. It's amazing how many calories are in a
donut or a breakfast muffin.
- Choose a diet moderate in salt and sodium. This one is very difficult because it
requires you to read labels and be vigilant. The recommended daily allowance of
sodium is 2,400 milligrams. You can get that much in a single meal at a fast food
restaurant.
- If you drink alcoholic beverages, do so in moderation. There are many studies that
outline the benefits of drinking one or two glasses of wine per day, particularly red
wine. However, a glass of wine has approximately 140 calories in it. There are no
recommendations that say you should drink wine if you don't already drink it. And,
because alcohol is addictive, you need to be careful not to overindulge.
And Don't forget to drink alot of water, lots of it
I know that it's counterintuitive, but it's true. If you want to lose weight faster, drink lots
of water—at least eight glasses per day, more if you exercise a lot. This will keep your
body hydrated and flush out fat cells. I always keep a water bottle with me and make
sure that I get my eight glasses per day. Those 24-ounce bottled-water containers are
great. Drink three of those in a day and you've got nine glasses of water. And it's easy
to do this. One in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one in the evening.
